Robert Tune Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Apr. 11, 2023.
Robert Douglas "Bob" Tune, a loving and dedicated man, passed away on April 8, 2023, just shy of his 79th birthday. Born on April 17, 1944, in Maryland, Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Kathleen "Kathy" Tune; sons Robert "Robbie" Tune and his wife Nichole, and John Tune; and his adored grandson Lucas "Luke" Tune.
A proud Maryland native, Bob graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School before pursuing several degrees in higher education. He obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland - College Park, a Master's Degree from Towson State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. Bob's thirst for knowledge and passion for education led him to dedicate over 30 years of his life to the Maryland school system, primarily serving the Baltimore County school system. Throughout his career, Bob impacted the lives of countless students, colleagues, and community members.
Bob's love for sports was apparent to all who knew him. He loved watching his sons play sports year-round, always making time to go to practices, travel to tournaments, or play catch in the backyard. In addition to watching his sons play, he always loved catching an Orioles or Ravens game with family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always prioritizing the needs of his loved ones above his own.
In addition to sports, Bob had a deep appreciation for live music, with a particular fondness for John Denver and The Beach Boys. He attended numerous concerts and events throughout his life, sharing his love for music with his family and friends. Those who knew Bob well will remember him for his infectious laughter, warm-hearted nature, and ability to bring joy to any gathering.
Bob's legacy of love and commitment to his family and community will live on through the lives of those he touched. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends will honor Bob's life at Evans Life Celebration Home, 8800 Harford Rd, Parkville, MD 21234, on Friday, April 14, 2023 3-5PM & 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 9215 Old Harford Rd, Parkville, MD 21234, on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 12:30PM.
