Robert Joseph Tupa, Age 52, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away on February
15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born January 21, 1973, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Ed
and Sandy Tupa. He was the sixth child of eight and loved being from a large
family. This is where he first started working on his extensive Dad joke
collection.
Robert graduated from Shanley Catholic High School in 1991, then went on
to North Dakota State University earning a degree in Engineering. Robert and
Carrie met while attending Shanley and dated for 8 years before making
it official May 13, 2000, at Fair Hills in Lake Park, MN. He would remind
Carrie every anniversary what a great party it was.
He was an engineer through and through. Always fixing things even at
a young age. Robert was a Founder and Vice President at Twin Cities
Automation where he worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer. While in the
hospital he would question the staff about the equipment they were using as
he had designed parts for many of them. He was a favorite of the nurses but
was also known to be doing "experiments" with the equipment whenever they
left the room.
Robert loved golf and boating but mostly he loved his family and
friends. It wasn't a vacation if Rob didn't bring his Home Depot bucket full of
tools to wherever we where going. He was in the zone and happy when he
was wrenching on something. He knew how to help others without question
and knew what they needed before they did, but he also knew how to relax in
the sun by the lake. He loved spending hours on the phone with his parents
and siblings laughing and crying at old stories, going to his daughters' sports
events, and making new date-night foods for his wife. In heaven, Rob has an
apron on and is running his 'Crispy Bits' restaurant that he always dreamed of
having, serving up the best bits from every dish he ever made.
Robert is survived by his wife Carrie, daughters Anna and Greta;
parents, Ed and Sandy; brothers/sisters Mary (Kevin Neil), John (Linda), Mike
(Janet), Suzie (Greg Thibert), Patty (Matt Johnson), Nancy (Guy Boll) and
Peter and 28 nieces and nephews. In addition, he also has brothers and
sisters in law Blaine Clark, Aaron Clark (Sean Conley) and Danielle Ranek
(Josh Ranek).
Preceding Robert in death are maternal grandparents Alvina and Leroy
Hussey, paternal grandparents Ed and Ann Tupa and father-in-law Patrick
Clark
Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Sunday February 23, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie and one hour prior to Mass at CHURCH. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday February 24, 2025, at Pax Christi at 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie. Private interment.
