Robert G Ulshoefer

Robert George Ulshoefer, 79, of Cresskill, NJ, devoted husband, father, brother-in-law and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025. Born on October 27, 1945, in Jersey City to George and Bella Ulshoefer (deceased), Robert proudly served his country in the Navy right out of high school. He was stationed aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Bennington. After completing his military service, he pursued his passion for aviation by earning his license from Teterboro School of Aeronautics. He then worked as an aircraft mechanic and lead technician at JFK Airport and Newark Airport for both Flying Tigers and Federal Express.
Robert was the beloved husband of the late Catherine Ulshoefer (née Roberts), who passed away in 2023. He was a caring brother-in-law to Patrice Roberts, who passed away in 2024. He was a loving father to Michael and his wife Jennifer McNamara, and Christopher. He was a devoted grandfather to Sean, Daniel, Elizabeth, Gwyneth, Ashley, Erin, Kaylee, and Madison. Robert leaves behind many cherished cousins, dear friends, and his beloved dog, Brady, who was heartbroken over his passing.
A dedicated family man, Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren. He attended every sporting event, school function, and Grandparents Day, and was honored as a VIP in Cresskill schools. He coached and managed his children's teams and created countless memories at Ocean Beach, NJ, as well as during trips to Disney World, Aruba, and Bermuda. When not with his family, Robert was active in the community-serving as a member of the recreation committee, chair of the planning board, and a member of the environmental committee in the Borough of Cresskill. He enjoyed attending car shows, reading books, cheering for the NY Giants and Yankees, and socializing with friends. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Cresskill.
Robert's patience, leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his family will always be remembered.
