)Robert Lloyd Veatch, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 4, 1942, in Jessietown, Kentucky, Bob was a presence of warmth and kindness in the lives of all who knew him.
Bob dedicated more than 35 years of his life to General Electric, where he made lasting contributions until his retirement. He served proudly in the Kentucky National Guard, a testament to his commitment to his country.
Beyond his career, Bob was a person who dearly loved his family. He is survived by his children, Dana Veatch, Kerry (Missy) Veatch, and Patrick (Tina) Veatch, who will forever cherish the memories of their father. Bob's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Ryan (Robin) Thompson, Jesse (Erika) Veatch, Kelsey (Jeremy) Juliot, Miranda Veatch (Garrett Emerson), Morgan (Mark) Lemme, Kenna Pikey (Ethan Thompson), and Kayla Veatch, as well as his beloved great-grandchildren, Gracie, Roark, and Reece. He found great joy in his family, considering them his proudest accomplishment, alongside his steadfast faith in God.
Bob loved animals immensely, often taking in strays, reflecting his compassionate nature. He was a car enthusiast who has owned hundreds of cars. Bob could be found spending most of his free time piddling in his garage.
He is also remembered fondly by his siblings, Dave (Mary) Veatch, Marty (Chuck) Roberson, Mark (Sandy) Veatch, and his sister-in-law, Martha Veatch, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Esther Veatch; his infant son, Keevin Veatch; as well as his siblings, Bernard Veatch, Alice Reynolds, Charlie Veatch, and Linda Veatch.
As we celebrate the life of Robert Lloyd Veatch, we honor a man whose love for family, friends, animals, and the great outdoors left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Edwardsville (Tunnel Hill) Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Bob's memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or the New Albany Animal Shelter (215 W Market St, New Albany, IN 47150).
