Robert Lee Walker

Robert Lee Walker, 70, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Word of Truth. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. The journey of life began on a glorious and wonderful day. That day was September 11, 1953, for Robert Lee Walker. After losing 2 children before Robert was born, this day also became glorious and wonderful for Bessie Lee Walker and Robert Allen Walker.

 Robert lived his life teaching his kids how to love and cherish one another. He gave his all to make sure his children, grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were always taken care of in every way.

 Robert worked at several jobs like the compress, C.R. Anthonys, Xcel, McClain’s, Rooms 2 Go, Mrs. Baird’s, Dynamic Foods, PMS, and a lumper at both Fleming and Llano. He was a member of Triumph Missionary Baptist Church and when he took ill and couldn’t drive he started going to New Zion Baptist Church.

 Robert is preceded in death by his mother Bessie Lee Walker, his father Robert Allen Walker, and also his grandson Marquel DaJuan Thompson.

 Robert leaves to cherish is memory, his daughter Chandra Walker, his son Zachary Walker (Bryan), two stepsons Don Jackson (Brandi) and Anthony Jackson, nine grandchildren Jalen Thompson, Anference Thompson, DeAndre Jackson, Bam Jackson, Don Jackson, Jr., Zacorey Jackson, Zaryian Jackson, C. J. Johnson, and Jaden Jackson, 3 great grandchildren Jalen Thompson, Jr., Zanden Johnson, and Zayla Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
