Robert "Rob" Wengerd
KILLBUCK - Robert "Rob" Wengerd, age 71, of Killbuck, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice LifeCare in Wooster, following a short illness. Rob was born on June 27, 1952, in Millersburg, Ohio to the late Jay and Lela (Weaver) Wengerd and married Libby Voltz on April 3, 1976. Libby survives.
He graduated from West Holmes High School in 1970. Rob served in the US Army, worked as a meat cutter, worked at Rice-Chadwick, and retired from Millersburg Oil/Lykins Energy in 2021.
Rob was a proud Vietnam Era Veteran, he served as a member of The American Legion Post 192 Color Guard, he served as a Board Member for the Holmes County Veteran Service Commission. Rob was a Richland Township Trustee for many years. He was an Elder at Killbuck Valley Chris tian Church. Rob enjoyed being with his family and spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was attending sporting events, concerts and musicals, or offering some sage wisdom to the younger generations.
Rob set a good example for those that knew him and will be missed by many, especially his wife, Libby, son Joshua (Teresa) Wengerd of Millers burg, daughters, Cody Larimore of Killbuck, and Lauren (Erik) Marner of Millersburg, grandchildren Jimmy and Reece Wengerd, Camden, Caleb, and Coryn Larimore, Addison Streer, Holden, and Corbin Marner. He is survived by siblings Richard (Connie) Wengerd of Killbuck, Ron (Paula) Wengerd of St. Augustine, Florida, Rene (Sheila) Wengerd of Walnut Creek, Ruth (Mike) Mannion of Mentor, Rian (Candi) Wengerd of Killbuck, and Randy (Beth) Wengerd of Wooster. He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Jason Aufrance.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 11AM with a service following at 1PM at Killbuck Valley Christian Church, Dale Duncan will officiate the service.
Military rites will be conducted by both the Millersburg American Legion and the Killbuck VFW beginning at 12:45 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may also be made to the Holmes County Veterans Memorial and sent to the Holmes County Veterans Office, 75 E. Clinton St., Suite 104, Millersburg, OH 44654 or to LifeCare Hospice of Ohio 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
