Robert G. Werner, known affectionately as Bob by his friends and family, left this world on June 8, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey, at the age of 71. Born on May 30, 1954. Bob was a man who brought light and love into the lives of all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories.
Bob's journey began in Waldwick, NJ, where he grew up surrounded by the love of his parents, George and Margaret Werner, who preceded him in death. Forty years ago, he laid down roots in Middletown, where he and his devoted wife, Jane (Shaughnessy) Werner, built a life filled with laughter and love. Their bond was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual respect.
Bob's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his son, Michael Werner (Sara) of Pt Monmouth, and his daughter, Melodie Nadolny (Matthew) of Cliffwood. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, guiding his children with wisdom and kindness. Bob's two sisters, Elizabeth Maccario (Joseph) of New York and Ruth Werner of Pennsylvania, will remember him as a beloved brother who always brought a sense of comfort and joy to family gatherings. Bob's legacy will continue to live on through his six grandchildren, Chance, Saint, Cora Lee, Cody, Caleb, and Brayden, whom he adored more than words can express. His love for his family extended to his nieces and nephews, who will forever hold dear the memories of their fun-loving uncle.
Professionally, Bob was a man of science and practical skills. He spent years working as a cosmetic chemist for Charles of the Ritz, demonstrating his meticulous nature and innovative spirit.
Bob's interests painted the picture of a man who embraced life's simple pleasures. An avid fisherman, he relished the tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch. The beach was his haven, a place where he could bask in the sun and enjoy the rhythmic lull of the waves. His love for the great outdoors extended to hiking and embracing all kinds of outdoor activities, where he found peace and rejuvenation in nature's embrace.
A true sports enthusiast, Bob's passion for the Yankees and Jets was unmatched. He reveled in the camaraderie of fellow fans and the excitement of the game. Yet, above all, Bob's greatest joy was found in the laughter and presence of his grandchildren. The time spent with them was precious, filled with stories, games, and the creation of unforgettable moments.
Though never forceful in expressing his faith, Bob trusted in Jesus for the forgiveness of his sins and received the gift of eternal life. (John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.") That faith influenced all of the kind and generous things he did for others.
Bob Werner's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering zest for life. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the enduring impact he has had on each life he touched. His spirit will forever be a guiding light to those who were fortunate enough to know him. Bob's departure from this earth is not an end but a continuation of his journey, as his memory and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Robert's life on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Jacqueline M Ryan Home for Funerals Inc. 233 Carr Ave, Keansburg from 3PM to 7PM. A service will conclude the evening, and a private cremation will follow.
