Robert A. White Jr., 80, slipped peacefully from this life on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his beloved home in Mission, Texas. Born on March 14, 1945, in Jackson, Michigan, to the late Robert Aurther White Sr. and Juanita Fry-White, Robert was a devoted family man whose love and laughter filled every room he entered.
A cherished husband to Carmen White, Robert built a life rooted in partnership and mutual respect. As a father to Matthew White, Michele White, and Bobby White, he took immense pride in watching his children grow into compassionate, capable adults. To his siblings-Rick (Gina) Meng, and Jim Meng-he was a steadfast brother, always ready to lend an ear, share a laugh, or offer guidance. Robert's heart overflowed with joy for his two grandsons and three great grandchildren. He counted six nieces among his loved ones, each holding a special place in his warm, generous heart.
"Family first" was more than a motto for Robert-it was his way of life. His greatest joy was simply being surrounded by his sons friends. His two loyal companions, Maya and Milo, were never far from his side, their wagging tails a constant reminder of the simple pleasures that brightened his days.
An adventurer at heart, Robert found solace and exhilaration in the great outdoors. He was most a homebody watching his police shows. As well he loved too go fishing and hunting in his early years, but his passion was being at the shooting range every week, without a doubt, since he was envolved and revolved in the law enforcement life.
In quieter moments, Robert indulged his inquisitive nature with a love of history. He was particularly fascinated by the strategies and stories of wartime leaders, and he could spend hours engrossed in books or documentaries that brought the past vividly to life.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. eulogy at Flores Funeral Home in Mission, Texas. In keeping with Robert's wishes, his body will be cremated.
The White family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice Care for their compassionate support during Robert's final weeks. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort to both Robert and his loved ones when it was needed most.
Robert's legacy of love, curiosity, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he has departed from our sight, his lessons of loyalty, family devotion, and the joy of simple pleasures will guide us always.
