Robert W. “Rob” Williams
Elgin, SC
Robert Wayne Williams, known affectionately as "Rob," passed away on March 10, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 63. Born on October 28, 1962, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Rob was a cherished husband, father, uncle, friend, and a leading figure in the manufacturing sector.
Rob's professional journey was marked by his roles as Plant Manager at several plants, most notably at EATON. His leadership and dedication not only contributed to the success of these organizations but also earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues throughout the industry.
An alumnus of Elon Honors College, Rob was a proud member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He carried the values and friendships formed during his college days into his personal and professional life, showcasing an awesome personality that drew many to him. His warmth and affable nature were complemented by his love for life, evident in his numerous friendships and the fond memories he created with those around him.
In addition to his career, Rob was passionate about a variety of hobbies and interests. He could often be found enjoying a round of golf with his buddies or listening to his beloved southern rock music. A devoted sports fan, Rob passionately cheered for his Washington Redskins and the NC State Wolfpack, instilling in others the same spirit of camaraderie and enthusiasm he embodied.
Rob is remembered as a devoted family man, proud of his marriage to his wife, Sandra Powell Williams, which lasted 24 wonderful years. He took immense pride in his son, Spencer Riley Williams, who was a focal point of joy in his life. His family meant everything to him, and he cherished the moments spent together. Additionally, Rob had a special bond with his niece, Lauren Hurdle, and her husband, Trey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlice and Rosa Donalds Williams, and his sister, Cheryl Cochran. Their memory will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home, Powdersville Road in Easley, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Rob will be laid to rest in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.
Robert Wayne Williams will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, friendship, and leadership will continue to inspire those he left behind.
