Robert E. Wohler, age 96, passed away on Monday June 3, 2024, in Shawano. Robert was born on July 3, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Edwald J. and Selma F. (Schwartz) Wohler. He graduated from high school and attended college in Chicago. On October 17, 1953, Robert was united in marriage to Joan A. Lang in Tilleda, Wisconsin. He worked as a dairy farmer for 44 years and did field work for another 17 years in Bartelme, Wisconsin. In Robert's free time, he enjoyed riding his snowmobile. He was a very active member and on the church board of Peace Lutheran Church in Tilled. Robert held many different titles for the Town of Seneca including clerk, assessor and chairman; for the Town of Richmond was a supervisor and on the board of appeals for six years. He was a member of the Tilleda Advancements.
Robert is survived by his wife of 70 years, Joan; children, Susan Carriveau, Kim (Merlin) Adams and Richard Wohler; grandchildren, Myka, Tyler (Jennifer), Ryan (Brianne), Audrey and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Carver, Carmeron, Sabrina, Sam, Maxwell, Delilah and Amelia; brother-in-law, Harry Lang; and cousin, Eugene Schwartz. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Robert is preceded in death by brothers, Ewald and LeRoy; brother in infancy; parents, Edwald and Selma; sisters-in-law, Irene Wohler and Harriet Schwartz; and brother-in-law, Fred Lang.
A funeral service for Robert will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday June 8, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda with S.A.M. Jim Hartleben officiating. Burial will be held at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am and will continue until the time of service.
