He is also survived by his daughter, Kathi Wyss of Washington and 2 grandchildren.
Robert worked as a maintenance engineer at Caterpillar.
Cremation rights have been accorded. Private burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria is assisting the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Care. Online condolences may be left at www.GaryDeitersFH.com.

Our paths crossed often, we both attended Manual High School together, we both served in the Army infantry in different units in Viet Nam at the same time and we played a lot of golf together on the weekends. We had many conversations about our time in the army and the game of golf. I will miss his dry humor. Bill Dutton
