Roberta Cowden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes - Clio Chapel on Dec. 23, 2025.
COWDEN, Roberta (Bobbie, Bo) Jean– of Clio, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home, 503 N. Mill Street, Clio, Michigan. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
Bobbie was born on August 7, 1950, in Parma, Missouri, to the late James and Helen McNew. She was raised in Missouri before moving to Flint, where she attended Flint schools. She later moved to Clio, where she raised her family and made her home. Bobbie dedicated over 30 years of service to GM/Buick, where she was admired for her strong work ethic and pride in an honest day's work. During that time, she met her best friend and soulmate, Gary Cowden, who preceded her in death in 2024. Their deep love and companionship were a highlight of her life. A devoted Christian, Bobbie was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her family was the greatest joy of her life. She had a caring heart and was cherished by all who knew her. Bobbie enjoyed word searches and word seeks, was an avid Elvis fan, loved the color pink, and collected sentimental items that held special meaning. She shared a special bond with her sister and best friend, Sandy, and valued the close relationships in her life.
She is survived by her children: Mandy (Luke) Storms and Jason Peel.; stepchildren: Kenneth Peel and Jacqueline Donahue; grandchildren: Preslie, Laila, Emily (Shane), Megan, Jacob, Bryan, Levi (Skye), Graycie, Abigayle, Robby, Charley, Kenny, Heather, Michael ; great-grandchildren: Piper, Henley, June; siblings: Sandy Egan, Pat Newman, Jamie (Bobby) Jones, and Lisa McNew; and several nieces and nephews. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; her soulmate, Gary Cowden; her son, Rodney Peel; and her siblings, Mike McNew, Lynn McNew, and Linda Haney.
