Roberta J. 'Bobbi' Hackbert

Roberta J. "Bobbi" Hackbert (nee Bullen), age 82, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Chicago's Beverly neighborhood, Homewood, IL and Kimberling City, MO, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, at AdventHealth La Grange Medical Center in LaGrange, IL. She was born June 18, 1940 in Evergreen Park, IL.
Beloved wife of Kenneth L. "Ken" Hackbert, whom she married September 16, 1961, loving mother of Nancy (Greg) Damiani of New Lenox, IL, Sharon (Erik) Peterson of New Lenox, James V. Hackbert of Plainfield and the late Michael K. Hackbert, adored grandmother of Justina (Sam) Hathi, Jerilyn (Garret Moi) Damiani, Pietro Damiani and Jaime (Nick) Dalpolo, cherished great-grandmother of Rocky Hathi, devoted daughter of the late Vincent and Matilda (nee Werner) Bullen, dear sister of the late Mariann (the late Daniel) Leahy, sister-in-law of Donald (Sherele) Hackbert of South Carolina and the late William James Hackbert, fond cousin, aunt, great-aunt, and friend of many.
Bobbi grew up in Evergreen Park, IL and was a 1958 graduate of Academy of Our Lady (also known as Longwood Academy). A loving and devoted homemaker, Bobbi also worked in retail at Hallmark in Homewood and the JCPenney department store in the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, IL.
Bobbi moved from Homewood to Plainfield in 1984. She later lived in Kimberling City, MO from 1996-2015 before returning to Plainfield. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Homewood and a current member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield. In her younger years, Bobbi enjoyed spending time at her family's summer home in Wauconda, IL with fond memories of fishing with her grandfather.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022, 8:30 – 10:00 AM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL.
Services will begin Wednesday, 10:00 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield.
Interment: St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield, IL.
