Roberta Lynn "Bobbie" Hobbs

Roberta "Bobbie" Lynn (McGinness) Hobbs, age 74, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away at home on March 9, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Bobbie was born on May 26, 1951, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to William Robert McGinness and Minnie Wilkerson McGinness. She graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1969 and later attended Grand Rapids Junior College. For many years, Bobbie could be found smiling behind the service desk at Meijer in Cascade, where her kindness and friendly spirit brightened the days of countless customers. Later, she continued sharing that same warmth while working at Hobby Lobby in Kentwood.

Bobbie had a deep love for her family and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her flowers bloom, lunch and movie dates with friends, watching the waves along the shore in Grand Haven, Mackinaw Island and viewing the Mackinac Bridge. Known for her ever-present smile and selfless heart, Bobbie always put the needs of others before her own.

A woman of deep faith, Bobbie was a devoted Christian who found great comfort in her belief and looked forward to being reunited with her loved ones in Heaven.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Pat Hobbs; her children, daughter Tanya (Jason) Rouse of Alpena, MI, daughter Tracey (Tom) Conner of Gobles, MI, and son Tom (Emily Covert) Hobbs of Lowell, MI; and her grandchildren, Aidan Rouse, Kameryn Rouse, Ben Conner, Hannah Conner, and Lawson Conner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Minnie McGinness; her brother, Robert McGinness; and her brother-in-law, Neil Hobbs.

Bobbie loved summer and the warmth of the sun. In keeping with her wishes, her family will host a casual celebration of life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories when the Michigan weather turns warm again. Details will be announced at a later date.

In the meantime, Bobbie's life will be honored during a Meet & Greet on Saturday, March 14, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home in Lowell, Michigan. Those who attend are encouraged to share a favorite memory of Bobbie that the family can read and reflect on in the weeks ahead.
