Roberta Stroupe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carson/Boyer Funeral Home Inc on Jan. 14, 2026.
Roberta Beryl Stroupe, 85, of Rural Valley, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 29, 1940 to Beryl and Martha Isabelle (Brown) McGaughey in Rural Valley, PA.
Roberta was a long-standing member of the NuValley Presbyterian Church where she served on the Women's Association and as a Deacon, assisted with treasurer duties, was a youth group leader and participated in as many dinners and activities as she could through the church and fellowship hall. She also served on the Armstrong County Board of Elections and was a member of the Rural Valley Grange.
In her earlier years, Roberta worked as a bank teller before becoming a babysitter for many families. She enjoyed painting, crafts, camping, canning and was a great conversationalist. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren on any occasion.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Jack Stroupe whom she married September 7, 1963; daughters, Amy (Rick) Maziarz and Kathy (Ryan) Moore; grandchildren, Tara (Ben) Maziarz-Myers, Derek (Avery) and Peyton Maziarz, Karissa (Sean) Cunningham, Dalton (Amber) Slee, Kendall and Kamden Moore, Cody, Tanner, and Kyle Stroupe; great-grandson, Conrad Maziarz-Myers; sisters-in-law, Beverly (John) Walker and Bonnie McGaughey; brothers-in-law, Gerald and Dan (Leslie) Stroupe; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randall Stroupe; sister, Beverly Stewart; and brothers, Bernard and Duaine "Butch" McGaughey.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, Rural Valley, PA.
An additional hour of visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the NuValley Presbyterian Church with a funeral service to immediately follow with Rev. Bruce Shannon, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
