William “Leroy” Stroupe, 73, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.
He was born in Buncombe County on October 18, 1952 to the late Bill Stroupe and Betty Craig Stroupe.
Known as a hard worker, he formerly worked at Baxter Healthcare, but he spent most of his life as a tree cutter with Wilson Tree Company. An avid outdoorsman, Leroy enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved anything Western themed, and he had a passion for horses. He loved his family dearly. Most importantly, Leroy was saved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Stroupe, and one brother, Richard “Leon” Stroupe.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Jennie Jenkins Stroupe; six step-children; two step-grandchildren; his sister, Lynn Trivett; one brother, Larry Stroupe (Nadine); his nieces and nephew who loved him dearly; and his special canine companion, Little Bit.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A private burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to honor Leroy’s memory do so by doing something kind for others.
