Roberta "Bobbie" Zelinka was granted her angel wings on June 14, 2024. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Bobbie had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life.
She was born in 1931 to Charles and Katherine Roberts and grew up in Kerrville, Texas.
At the young age of 18, Bobbie packed her bags and headed east to New York City; where she pursued her dream to become a model. It was there she met the love of her life; Frederick Zelinka. They were married in 1954 and had their three boys; Fred Jr, David and John. Then in 1970, the family returned to Kerrville, Texas and eventually settled in Seguin, Texas where Bobbie worked in real estate while raising her rambunctious boys.
A job opportunity brought the family to Arizona in 1980 and shortly after, built their "forever" home in Fountain Hills.
Bobbie was a devoted Christian and praised the Lord daily for the many gifts she had received throughout her life. She was incredibly grateful for her husband, children, sisters (Jodie and Carol), and her many, many friends. Bobbie was the first person to offer up a prayers for anyone in need. She firmly believed in the power of miracles and angels.
Bobbie is survived by her husband, Fred, her sons David and John, her daughter in-law Deanna Zelinka, and her three grandchildren, Katherine, Andrew, Chloe, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her son Fred Jr., her brother Charles, and sisters Jodie and Carol.
A funeral mass will be held at The Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, Arizona on Friday June 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow. Burial will be on Friday June 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM at The National Cemetery of Arizona.
