With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roberto Castro Arcos, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on June 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Roberto, born on February 26, 1944, found his lifelong love in Viola, whom he married on June 4, 1988.
Roberto was a man of simple pleasures and deep passions. He found joy in the tranquility of nature, often spending his days fishing and hunting—especially relishing the thrill of mule deer season. A true rustic at heart, he embodied the cowboy spirit: adventurous, grounded.
He is survived by his loving children: Robert Jr. Arcos, David Arcos, Rebecca Gaitan, and Estevan Arcos, who carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and resilience. His grandchildren—Ava Leal, Brandon Leal, and Dilynn Arcos—will forever remember their devoted Papa for his warmth, wisdom, and playful spirit. Roberto also leaves behind his cherished furbabies, Tammy and DJ, who brought him years of companionship and comfort.
He was preceded in death by his wife Viola Arcos, parents Manuel and Consuelo Arcos, and his beloved daughter, Angelica Arcos. We find peace knowing he is now reunited with her and their treasured furbaby, Itchy, who both meant the world to him.
To honor Roberto’s life, memorial services will be held on June 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Combest Family Funeral Home Chapel, 2210 Broadway Ave., Lubbock, TX 79401. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his legacy and sharing memories during this time of reflection and remembrance. A cremation ceremony will follow, honoring Roberto’s enduring connection to nature and the free-spirited life he loved.
