Age 72, of Morris, Illinois, passed away after a long, hard fought battle with cancer on March 2, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born on December 12, 1953, in Morris, Illinois, to Charles and Doris (Knudsen) Enger. He was raised and educated in Morris, graduating from Morris High School with the class of 1971. He began his working career for Caterpillar, where he dedicated 37 years. On November 6, 1982, Rob married the love of his life Carol (Fleishman), and together they began their lives rooted in Morris. A lifelong resident of the community he loved, Robin built a life centered on family, simple joys, and lasting memories with those closest to him.
Rob found happiness in life’s everyday pleasures. He enjoyed cheering on the Cubs, a round of golf at the Morris Country Club, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. He was an avid fast pitch softball player, participating in many leagues for more than 20 years. Robin will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, his steady presence, and the warmth he brought to his family and friends. He was known for his stubbornness and being quick witted, always having a clever one-liner for any conversation. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles and comfort to those who knew him. He was an outstanding friend, a doting grandpapa, an adoring dad, and a loving husband who wore his heart on his sleeve.
Rob is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Fleishman Enger; his children: Taylor (Darrell) DeShazer, Cameron (Nicole) Enger, Andrea Enger, and Kendall (Amanda) Enger; and his cherished grandchildren, Natalie Enger and Jayden DeShazer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
