Mr. Robin Walter Koon, 68, of Clemmons, NC, passed away on February 12, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 6, 1956, to Mr. Franklin D. Koon and Mrs. Patsy Eller Koon. Robin was a 1974 graduate of Parkland High School. After high school he was employed by Flow Chevrolet where he was a dedicated Fleet and Commercial Sales associate. Robin was known for having a contagious sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren, watching old westerns and the Andy Griffth Show, cookouts, pool parties with his neighbors, and taking his mom out for a lunch date. Robin was married for 35 years to the love of his life, Penny Jo Hill Koon. He loved all the memories they made together, especially taking adventures to the mountains. Those who knew Robin, knew he was always willing to go the extra mile and lend a helping hand when it was needed. He was very involved in Scout Troop #716, where he dedicated a lot of time serving the community in various activities and projects. In addition to his wife, surviving Robin are his mother, Patsy Koon; two children, Derek Koon (Ashlyn) and Shannon Koon; 6 grandchildren, Kelli, Jessica, Nick, Skylette, Maverick, and Clay; one great-grandson, Tré; three siblings, Steve, Elana Hand (Dell), and Lori Shannonhouse (Don); a lifelong friend, Bill Leavitt; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin D. Koon; a son, Nickolas D. Koon; and a brother, David L. Koon. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm ~ 3:00pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Troop #716, 220 E. Sprague Street, Winston-Salem, NC, 27127. Robin would want you all to remember to Make America Great Again!
