Rob McKee

Apple Valley, MN - Rob McKee, 69, passed away on August 14, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1954, in Oakland, CA, USA to the late Irene and Carlos McKee. Rob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Rob was a quiet and thoughtful man. His daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters meant the world to him. Although he was a man of few words, his every utterance carried deep meaning and thoughtfulness. Rob had a special fondness for animals and enjoyed photographing the deer and turkeys that frequented his backyard bird feeder. Throughout his life, he cherished his many cats and dogs, with his faithful companion Maxwell providing comfort and companionship in his final days.

In his four years of military service with the Air Force, Rob exemplified dedication and commitment. His service to the country was greatly valued.

Professionally, Rob excelled as an Applications and Software Engineer specializing in Robotics. His work took him around the world, where he built garbage burners in Japan and resided in the United Kingdom for a period of time. Rob found great satisfaction in teaching others, always striving to find innovative ways to help them learn.

Outside of work, Rob found solace in playing the guitar, writing poetry, and indulging in his love for reading. His creative spirit knew no bounds.

A private gathering of immediate family is planned to celebrate Rob's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the World Wildlife Fund, an organization Rob passionately supported.

Rob McKee will be dearly missed by his wife Michelle, daughter Melissa, granddaughters Ginger and Margaret, step-mother Melody McKee, dog Maxwell, sisters Darcy Schubin and Carla McKee, and all who knew him. May his memory live on in our hearts forever.
