Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals - GreenvilleRobin Gene Reynolds, a father, cherished educator, and coach, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Gaffney, South Carolina. He was born on April 23, 1957, in Ithaca, New York to the George Edwin Reynolds and the late Jane Evans Reynolds.
Robin was a graduate of Haslett High School in 1976, leaving behind a legacy of academic and athletic excellence. He continued his education at Michigan State University, where he earned his degree in 1981.
Robin's passion for sports was matched only by his dedication to education. He spent his career as a beloved science teacher at Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, South Carolina. There, he also coached football, wrestling, baseball, softball, and golf. Robin's approach to teaching was believed that every student had the potential to excel. He was known for his ability to make each of his students feel capable, valued, and excited about learning.
Outside the classroom, Robin was a supporter of both Clemson and Michigan State, embodying the spirit of true sportsmanship and loyalty. His love for these teams was a reflection of his own competitive nature and his belief in the power of teamwork and perseverance.
Robin’s greatest accomplishment was being a father to his children, Tompkins Warren Reynolds (Julianne), Caroline “Arrington” Reynolds (Shafiqua "Fee"), and Stephen “Hopkins” Reynolds, and a grandfather to Brantley, Harlyn, Gracelyn, Artist, and Jaelynn. He was a brother to Greg (Tammy) Reynolds and was preceded in death by his brother Eric Reynolds. Robin is survived by several nieces and nephews, who will always cherish the memories they have of their uncle.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, Greenville, SC, with a receiving of friends following service. Service will be virtual for out of town family and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Robin’s caregivers, as well as Alicia Irwin and Sina Hollaway. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Episcopal School in memory of Robin Reynolds or the charity of one's choice.
