Robin Leigh Seppi

Robin Leigh Hawkins Seppi was born November 29, 1960 in Montgomery, Alabama to Charles R. & J. Diane Hawkins. 

Her love of Nature was apparent almost immediately. As a very young girl, she loved carefully catching bees by their wings so she could look at them, and then letting them go. She was never stung. 

She was thrust into responsibility as a young girl, caring for her 2 half-sisters, while her father & his 2nd wife attended college. Her home life was difficult, navigating the dynamics of her parents each divorcing and remarrying.

The bright spots in her life during this time included singing in the Celebration youth choir of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (even recording an album with them), and dancing. 

She met and married Mark Wallace Craven (later divorced). With him, she loved living in the Carolina woods. Wild animals seemed to know she loved them, allowing her to have precious interactions with them, which helped sustain her through multiple miscarriages.

She was a talented seamstress, and felt honored to sew choir robes for a local church. When she was invited to the service to see how great the choir looked in the new robes, she was the only white girl there, but felt completely at home. These were her Brothers & Sisters.

On May 29, 1984 she was driving her little yellow car, when she was hit head-on by a drunk driver. Robin survived the accident, but would spend the rest of her life in pain. 

Though people had caused her pain, Robin was willing to forgive and mend relationships. She wanted to spread God's love to everyone she could reach. She had great Faith, and enjoyed attending church to praise the Lord. When her pain seemed overwhelming, she frequently turned to prayer and her Grandmother's Bible.

Robin's life changed when she was introduced to, and then married, Christopher John Seppi. He was the humorous, reliable, Christian man she'd been missing in her life. His dedication to God and to her finally brought stability. She was so grateful for his love and care.

Living in Utah with Chris, Robin enjoyed a new kind of Nature. She delighted in sitting at the kitchen table petting her cats while watching flocks of birds in the backyard, where Chris would daily refill the bird feeder. She also loved to watch the deer that contentedly lay between the trees, or showed up on the Ring doorbell as they ate the yellow flowers in her front yard.

Robin loved to watch old movies and TV shows, and to interact with every baby or young child she saw. She loved to eat shrimp, potatoes, and anything with cheese on it. 

The years of trying to manage her constant pain finally got the best of her body, as her liver and kidneys shut down. Robin went into a coma and then passed peacefully on October 11, 2024. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her dear husband Chris, a step-mother Lynne Hawkins, half-sisters Lisa (Michael) Amandro, & Tara Trent (Thomas Pagan), Chris' parents, Lenn and Joann Seppi, Chris' siblings, Todd (Devona) Seppi, Sarah (Keith) Curran, Rachel (Tom) Hart, several nieces and nephews, and her very spoiled cats, Seymour and Merlin.

Special thanks to her chiropractor, Dr. Jason Smith, and the caring doctors and nurses at Lakeview and St. Mark's hospitals. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, where a viewing will be held from 9:00-9:45 a.m. prior to the service. 

The funeral will be live streamed on the Russon Mortuary Live Facebook page, and on this obituary page.

Interment will be in the Centerville City Cemetery immediately following the service.
