A devoted public servant, Robin devoted 17 years to the Mecklenburg Sheriff's Department, serving initially as a deputy and later transitioning to the role of a medical nurse. Her commitment to the safety and well-being of others was evident throughout her career. Alongside her husband, Mark Bruce Wilkinson, she was also a co-founder and manager of Southern Sanitation, a venture they operated together from 1986 until 1999, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to family enterprise.
Beyond her professional achievements, Robin was a nurturing and loving mother who raised five children with unwavering dedication. She extended her warmth and care beyond her own family, often looking after the children in her neighborhood, exemplifying her generous and inclusive nature. Robin found great joy in the outdoors, embracing the beauty of the beach, the serenity of the mountains, and the simple pleasures of gardening on her property. A woman of many talents, she also enjoyed sewing and crocheting, crafts through which she expressed her creativity and devotion to those she loved.
Robin is survived by her cherished children: Amber Nicole Stilwell (Andy), Lauren Hockersmith (Daniel), Justin Wilkinson (Jenna), and Dana Eudy (Steve), sister, Brenda Dixon (Jeff), her nine grandchildren, four nieces, and two nephews. Her life was enriched by the love and support of this close-knit family circle.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sidney and Ilien Williams Chronister; her husband, Mark Bruce Wilkinson; and her daughter, Kara I. Carpenter. Their memories remain an integral part of her story and legacy.
Robin Lynn Wilkinson’s life was a testament to dedication—both to her community and her family. Her nurturing spirit, steadfast commitment, and joyful appreciation of life will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
