CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Robin Jay Woolum, age 66, of Centerville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Born December 23, 1958, in Richmond, Indiana, to LJ and Barbara Meyer Woolum, Robin was a life-long resident of this area. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and Ivy Tech State College, with an Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems and Accounting. Robin was proud to have maintained a 4.0 GPA in college. He received the Business Divisions Award as Most Outstanding Graduate, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Ivy Tech in 2000. Robin worked at Cox's Grocery, Lo Bills, Marsh, and Needler's Supermarkets for over 50 years, and currently worked for Abilities Richmond. He was a Special Olympics coach, and his family was named The Special Olympics family of the Year in 2019. Robin was an avid bowler, with 298, 299, and 300 games, loved to travel and go on cruises, lighthouses, concerts and music (especially rock), and movies and television shows.

Survivors include his daughter, Monica Beth (Ricki) Via; son, Thomas Benjamin Woolum; grandchildren, Desirae Via and Logan Jay Via; sister, Patricia Joann (Bill) Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Denise (John) Maitlen; sister-in-law, Marta Benjamin; and brother and sister-in-law, Danny (Jennifer Sullivan) Benjamin.

He was preceded in death on April 26, 2012, by his high school sweetheart, Donna Kay Benjamin Woolum, to whom he was married on November 26, 1977; parents; grandparents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; little brother, Leonard Woolum; nephew, Justin Matthew Henry Smith; and brother-in-law, Donald Benjamin.

Visitation for Robin Jay Woolum will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 710 North A Street, Richmond, with Fr. Sengole Gnanaraj officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family invites everyone to dress casually, in your favorite rock band t-shirt, if you have one.
