Rock A. Kiser, age 69, of New Madison, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his home.
He was born on November 3, 1955 in Greenville to the late Richard and Mary (Falknor) Kiser.
In addition to his parents, Rock is preceded in death by his half-sisters, Delores and Joann.
Those left to cherish Rock's memory include his half-brothers, Richard Kiser (Betty) of Greenville and Dennis Forte (Carol) of Greenville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rock loved his community and had a compassionate heart. He served as a New Madison First Responder, as a volunteer fireman, EMT, and a Darke County Deputy Sheriff. Before his parents passed, Rock was a very sociable man, and very generous in support of his community. When he knew of anyone in need of just a dollar, he would lend them two. People down on their luck, have lost a champion! After the death of his father and mother, Rock withdrew into himself, becoming "The Hermit of New Madison".
Rock was his own man and did not dance to the world's tune. He will be dearly missed by his family.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison.
Family and friends may visit with Rock's family on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
