Roderick Anthony "Ricky" Sims

Roderick Anthony "Ricky" Sims, born on November 7, 1958, in New Orleans, LA, peacefully passed away on February 26, 2026, in Gonzales, LA, surrounded by family.

Ricky dedicated 39 years of his life to a career at Petroleum Service Company, where he made a significant impact. Growing up, Ricky developed a love for horses and spent much of his time raising and caring for them, nurturing a special bond with his beloved Appaloosa horse, Coco.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Angela Sims, and their children: Quantez (Claston) Bernard, Antoine Sims, Ariel (Demetrius) Aikens, Terrell (Jasmine) Sims, and Jasmine LeBlanc. He was a cherished grandfather to 11 grandchildren and had two godchildren, Courtney Henry and Kennedy Hall. Ricky also leaves behind his siblings, Rodney (Bernadette) Sims, Desere (Lora) Sims, and Rochelle (Marvin) Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Calvin Sims and Emma Dale (Landry) Sims, and a sister, Donna Faye. 

Ricky will be honored with a visitation at The Church International located at 13423 LA Highway 431, St Amant, LA 70774 on March 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 4PM to 4:30 PM.

Ricky's spirit and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
