It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodger J. Carman, a devoted family man and passionate outdoorsman, who left us on August 16th, 2025 at the age of 73. Rodger lived a life full of purpose, passion, and quiet strength.

Born on January 27th 1952, Rodger developed a deep love for the outdoors at an early age. Whether it was in the woods or on the water, he found peace and joy in both hunting and fishing. Rodger also had a deep love for Racing. These were more than hobbies to him-they were traditions, often shared with his children, grandchildren, siblings and close friends. His larger than life stories were shared with passion to anyone with a lending ear whether at the racetrack, the shop, the garage, or during family time.

Rodger was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. But more than anything, Rodger cherished his family. He was a steady presence, always ready with a helping hand, a sincere smile, and a colorful vocabulary.

Rodger is survived by his children Shalon Nieman (David Rozich), MaLynda Smith (Jeremie), Jim Carman (Nikee) and Shane Carman (Laura); his grandchildren Tyler (Alex), Brendan (Kacey), Zak, Garrett (Jenna), Grace, Megan (Jarred) Ryan (Sarah), Jeren, JaLyn (Anthony), Traitlynn (Seth), Haden, Madee, Alden, Nathan, Justin, Dylan, and Kodie; 10 great-grandkids; 10 brothers and sisters; and many other relatives and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Rodger is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon; his parents Vern and Jeannie Carman; brother Lee Carman; in-laws Herbert and Marie Goodhall; sister-in- law Linda Goodhall; brother-in-law Rodney Goodhall; and nephews Mike Moulton and Tadd Miller.

Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Rodger leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter-one that will continue to echo through the trees, across the water, and in the hearts of all who knew him.
