Robert J. "Bob" Winkelman

Robert J. "Bob" Winkelman, age 91, of Riverdale passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center. He was born on August 9, 1934, in Portage, Michigan, the son of Garrett and Effie (Bullard) Winkelman. He married Joyce Helman on July 9, 1955, a blessed union of 70 years.

Bob worked for Lobdell-Emergy for many years until his retirement. He also owned and operated Bob's Buggy Shop specializing in Volkswagen repairs. Bob was an avid NASCAR fan.

Bob was a faithful and devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses where he served as an Elder.

Robert is survived by his wife, Joyce; children Dennis Winkelman, Michael Winkelman, Gary (Dawn) Winkelman; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister Donna Busch; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Ruegsegger; his parents; and siblings Gary Winkelman, Beverly Hemingway, Wilma Smith, Shirley Ayers, Betty Nugent.

Cremation has taken place with a service to be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 3 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness 7963 N. Caris Rd. Vestaburg, MI 48891at a later time. Interment will take place in Sumner Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness or Gratiot County Commission on Aging.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma.
