Rodney Eugene Ackley

Rodney Ackley, age 63, of Peoria, IL, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Ackley
Rodney was a family man, who loved his wife and children dearly. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, and son-in-law. He was the provider and caretaker of his family. He was always dependable when it came to his family's needs. He was a jokester in uncomfortable situations always lightening the mood. He was a great example of what a man should be for his son. Rodney was a handyman and never hired anything done. He was passionate about outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and yard work and he enjoyed the buying and selling of flea marketing.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Michelle Ackley; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Samuel Hudson of Rocky Face, GA; son and daughter-in-love, Nic Ackley and Megan Preston; mother, Rita Ackley of Washington, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deb and Kevin Fetters of Chillicothe, IL, Tami and Todd Johnson of Canton, IL, and Kim and Jim Talley of Walland, TN; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will have a celebration of life in Rodney's memory at a later date.
