Rodney Allen Strickland, 79, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
Born on September 19, 1946 in Bamberg, SC, he was the son of the late Cleo Carter Strickland and Angus L. Strickland.
Rodney was known by his family, friends, and peers as a gentleman and a man of integrity. He led by example, both in his work ethic and in life. An avid hunter and proud member of Big Swamp Hunting Club, he was a genuine man who believed in doing the job right, helping others, and always putting family first. Rodney worked as a lineman for Berkeley Electric Coop for over 40 years, where he touched many lives. He was a simple, southern man who made a great impact throughout his lifetime.
Rodney is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jane Strickland and his sister, Harriet Strickland.
Rodney is survived by his son, Brett Strickland (Theresa); his daughter, Shana Sitton (Brent); grandchildren: Colby Buck, Cassidy Buck, Allison Sitton, Kelsey Strickland, and Zachary Sitton; and multiple great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ridge Baptist Church, 2168 Ridge Church Road, Summerville, South Carolina 29486.
A service will follow at 4:00 PM at the church, with burial to take place at Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Summerville, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ridge Baptist Church.
