Funeral services for Rodney Dwayne Tyson, 51, of El Cajon, California, will held at Shady Grove Holiness Church on Tuesday, April 8th at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Joseph Futral and Bro. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Land, Alabama.
Rodney Dwayne Tyson passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, peacefully at his home with his beloved K9 friend, Brick, by his side. Born on July 29, 1973, in Butler, Alabama, he was the son of Billy Joe Humphrey and Nellie E. Tyson. Rodney loved art. He had such a vivid imagination that he enjoyed expressing through his drawings and paintings. His granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann, aka "Big Baby" will sure miss her Big Pawpaw. Rodney was a devoted son, father, grandfather and friend. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Nellie E. Tyson Blackmon of Land, Alabama; son, Rodney Gabriel Tyson and wife Jenny of Butler, Alabama; and step-sister, Sharron Moore and husband Josh of Grove Hill, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, John and Della Tyson; Father, Billy Joe Humphrey; and Step-Father, Charles Blackmon.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made for the funeral services to Bumpers Funeral Home P O Box 705 Butler, AL 36904.
