Roger Adkins Obituary

Roger is survived by his sister, Carolyn Combs; his daughters, Angela (Mike) Komasara, Chrystal (Kevin) Roessler, Corinna (Dave) St. Aubin, and April Hipps; and his stepchildren, David (Norma) Carroll, Daniel (Heather) Carroll, Kimberly Rochowiak, and Kelly (Douglas) Hughes. He was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and more than 15 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lydia "Pete" Adkins; his sister, Mozel Roberts; and his brothers, Truman Roberts, Porter Roberts, Rodney Adkins, and Lonnie Adkins Jr.
He retired from General Motors after a dedicated career. Roger liked to watch golf and tennis, but he loved going to the casino. He had a gift for storytelling, often leaving his family to wonder if what they had just heard was the truth or one of his famous tall tales. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or only a moment, chances are you walked away with both a memory and a smile.
Roger grew up with a strong sense of family that remained with him throughout his life. Nothing brought him more joy than talking about "his girls." He loved telling others how lucky he was to be their dad, never missing a chance to laugh and share funny stories. His greatest legacy was the love he carried for his family.
Roger's presence, his stories, and his unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will take place from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. A procession will follow to Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan.
The family would also like to invite everyone to a celebration of life at Orchard Grove Community Church, 850 Ladd Road, Walled Lake, at 4:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Orchard Grove Community Church. Contributions may be sent via Venmo @OrchardGrove-CommunityChurch or through the website orchardgrove.org. Please make a note that your gift is in memory of Roger Adkins.
