Roger “PO” Archuleta,77, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by loving family. Born in Cerro, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents Rogerio and Felonize Archuleta.
Roger fought in the Vietnam war where he received numerous medals. He was the owner of the I Love Taos T-Shirt Shop Co. in the plaza. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies, they traveled as far as Scotland to enjoy a few rounds of golf. Roger fought two types of cancer and fought till the very end. We will miss his delicious food, humor, kindness and mostly his compassion to everyone he met.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 43 years Elmira; children Gerardo (Lidia), Cynthia Rason (Miguel), Carolina Mendez-(Mike) Susan Hardy (Jeff), Rosemary Cortez (James), Jennifer Archuleta and Grandson who he raised Isaiah Fernandez (Courtney); Grandchildren Andres, Ashlyn (Mike), Jacob, Celeste (Kris), Joshua Javier, Lauren, Garret, Jeremy, Gabriel, Alejandro, Isaiah, Danny and Ernie Jr.; Great-grandchildren Ariez, Aria and Mateo, Aliyah Naoh Fox; Siblings Lydia Folks (+Willie), Josie Mair (Doug), Mary Hone (Theron), Lillian Montgomery (+Tom), Irene Coates (+Fred), Shirley Coulter (+Bobby), Loraine Ramirez (Jim) , Darlene Garcia (Melvin), Orlinda Archuleta (Freddie), Lawrence Archuleta (Cammie), Christina Hurst (+Matthew); Great-Aunts Molly Quintana (+Ray) & Bridget Arellano (Walter), Loving Pet companions Ace Archuleta and granddog Lola, grandcat Bronco; Plus, many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Nexus Heath, Dr. Layman and staff, Courtney Clark the medical advice you provided us, the Ranchos Guadalupanas, Fr. Mike, and DeVargas Funeral Home. A special thanks to his golfing buddies that called and checked on him, Mike Andrade, Harrison James, Ray Garcia and Uvaldo & Ruby Mondragon, Merlin Romero, Dick Watkins and Travis Mair. And last but not least, all his friends at Taos Fire for the beautiful escort home and the great Christmas Parties he enjoyed attending and getting his rose.

Rosary will be recited on Saturday October 12, 2024 at 9am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Burial will be held at a later date.
