A graduate of Edison High School in 1953 where he was class president and active in football and basketball (captain), and track.

He met his wife on a blind date in 1954, and they married in St. Paul on December 15, 1956.

He earned his BS, MS, and PhD degrees from the University of Minnesota and a JD degree from Wiliam Mitchell College of Law.

Roger was a retired educator who spent his career advocating for others. He helped others as a teacher and counselor in Minneapolis and counselor in Hopkins and as a staff attorney for the Minnesota Education Association (now Education Minnesota).

He treasured his family and enjoyed their cabin near Longville hunting and fishing. He loved music, reading, gardening, and was an avid golfer. He and his wife Donna enjoyed travelling throughout the world in retirement.

He was an active member for many years of Brunswick United Methodist Church. He volunteered at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, served as a guardian ad litem in Hennepin County, was active for years as president of his townhome association, was active in Story Theater in the Robbinsdale School district, and most recently active in many committees and boards at his latest residence, Covenant Living in Golden Valley.

Service Thursday 2/19 at 10:30am in the chapel at Covenant Village of Golden Valley, 5800 St. Croix Ave N. Golden Valley with a reception to follow.

Roger lead the Medley Hills Townhome Assn. with calm and confidence through many challenging times. He was a great mentor to my early property management career. He will be missed.
