Roger Duane Bernier was born July 13, 1962 to William Merritt and Clydene Bernier. He passed away at home May 23, 2024. Roger grew up in Yakima, Washington and joined the United States Coast Guard after high school to follow in the footsteps of his stepfather Arthur Bernier.
Roger worked many years as a radio announcer after separating from the military, and was also in film. Roger loved his family very much and missed his beloved mother dearly. He was a man of the Lord, and a devoted husband to his wife, Melinda (Linda) whom he married later in life. Roger is survived by his daughter Sarah (and husband Jon) and son David; and was a stepfather to Linda's three sons, Casey, Daniel, and Dustin. He was a proud grandfather to Kendall, Morgan, Trystan, Parker, Jayla, Alyvia, Tamen, Kinsley, and soon to be born Layla.
Roger loved to travel and he truly loved taking his wife Linda with him.
A service at Chattanooga National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
