Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harwood Home for Funerals and Cremation Services on Dec. 11, 2023.
Roger Carrol Capps, 82, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2023 with his family by his side.
Roger was born September 9, 1941 to the late Roy R. and Mae B. Capps. After retirement from the school system, Roger became a Real Estate Agent, and then a Funeral Director with Harwood Home for Funerals.
Roger was a longtime member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends, visiting with people, pets, and was an avid fisherman. Roger will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his siblings, June Capps Spivey, Gerald Capps, Bruce Capps, Ray Capps, and Mike Capps.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Janice Garris Capps; son, Greg J. Capps of Asheville; daughter-in-law, Julia C. Capps of Asheville; grandson, Gregory J. Capps of Raleigh, NC; granddaughters, Caroline O. Capps of Mars Hill, NC and Natalie N. Capps of Asheville; siblings, Jeannette Capps Byrd of Douglasville, GA and Gene Capps of Candler, NC; and sisters-in-law, Sandra Capps, Irene Capps, and Kathy Capps.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00am at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the church. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.
