Hi Katie. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. We have all been fighting the flu and intestinal bugs. You did a very good job. There are a couple of minor changes to make I typed in Red.
Roger Gaines Clymer, a beloved father and adoring grandfather, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Independence, Missouri, surrounded by love. He was born on June 27, 1939, in Indian Mound, Tennessee, the cherished son of Gaines Clymer and Onie Taylor Clymer, both of whom have since passed.
For many years, Roger dedicated himself to his craft as a roofer, proudly working with the union. He poured his heart and soul into his work, exemplifying the values of hard work and dedication. Beyond his career, Roger was a loving and supportive presence in the lives of those he held dear. He was not just a father but a true papa, a title he wore with pride as he showered his grandchildren with affection.
An avid outdoorsman, Roger found peace and joy in hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with his family. His adventurous spirit and deep appreciation for the great outdoors were central to his life and brought joy to those who shared in these experiences with him.
Roger's personality shone bright in his loving demeanor and willingness to help others. Friends and family will remember him for his kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to anyone in need. His warmth and caring nature left a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his son, William Clymer; his daughter, Susan Clymer; and his stepson, Stephen Bailey, along with his cherished grandchildren, Logan, Zach, Emma, Maddie, Helayna, Taylor, Bella, Legend; great great grandchildren, Hayden, Greyson, Killian, Evelyn, Charlotte and William, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Gaines and Onie Clymer, and 5 of his 6 siblings. He is survived by his youngest sibling Cindy. As we gather to celebrate Roger's life, we invite all who knew and loved him to join us in honoring his legacy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Elks Lodge of Blue Springs, located at 100 NE Brizendine Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64014. It is an opportunity for friends and family to share stories, reflect on the love he brought into our lives, and remember the unique spirit Roger embodied.
Roger Gaines Clymer will be greatly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the stories we tell and the love we share in his memory.
