Roger Jr. was born on August 7, 1975 in Plainview, Texas to Roger Del Campo and Alyssa Hill. He attended Texas Tech University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Him and some friends started jiujitsu classes at the Texas Tech Rec Center. He later opened his first jiujitsu gym, West Texas Jiujitsu Academy. There he started the adopt-a-cop program where he offered free Brazilian Jiujitsu trainings to law enforcement officers in Lubbock until they earned their blue belt. He coached for many years and impacted so many lives, not only through coaching, but as a friend, big brother, mentor and creating his jiujitsu family. He truly cared about each one of his students by telling them the a/c was for the weak, giving them personal nicknames and pushing them to their limits. He impacted so many lives in a positive way and will truly be missed by many.
