MORENCI – Roger K. Emmons, age 86, of Morenci, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. Roger was born in Chesterfield Township, Ohio on October 12, 1938, to the late Kenneth W. and Leah M. (Sell) Emmons. He attended and graduated from Morenci High School in 1956, and in November of the same year, entered the Army National Guard. In 1961, he was called to active duty in the United States Army. He then returned to the Army National Guard, being honorably discharged in 1962. Roger loved farming and was an active farmer his entire life. He also worked at Morenci Rubber until their closing, then worked at Bohn Aluminum until his retirement in 2010. On December 20, 1958, he married Patricia Mary Ann Beach in Morenci, and she preceded him in death on September 3, 2018.

Roger's entire world revolved around his children and grandchildren, and he was a very dedicated family man. He attended every sporting event his children and grandchildren were in, only missing if he had to attend an American Legion post meeting. An all-around sports fan, he never missed an opportunity to support his favorite teams – the Morenci Bulldogs, the Detroit Lions, and he was the number one fan of the Michigan State Spartans. Roger was an avid bowler until 2024, loved to deer hunt and fish with his grandchildren, was active in 4-H, and was on the color guard for all Sand Creek football games. He was a member of the Adrian American Legion Post 275, where he was commander for four years and adjunct for 17 years, the Morenci Sportsmen Club, serving as trustee for many years, and Jasper Bible Church. His family describes him as a soft-spoken, selfless, and compassionate man who would help anyone who needed it.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tammie Reasoner, Terrie Whitehead, Robyn (Michael) Taylor, and Bill (Karla) Emmons; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary Chisolm and Joyce Garwood; and many nieces and nephews. Along with is parents and wife, he was preceded in death by granddaughters, Danielle and Lesley; great-grandson, Izaiah, brothers, Bruce and Leland Emmons; and sisters, Bertha Emmons and Marjorie Kintner.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM and 4:00 – 8:00 PM, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian. Visitation will resume on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Jasper Bible Church, where funeral services will start at 11:00 AM. Pastor Bruce Jewett will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Ridgeville Cemetery.
