Roger Epley Obituary
Roger the only child of the late Reid and Mary (Wolfinger) Epley was born in Marion, Ohio on March 15, 1948. While attending college at the Marion Business College he met the love of his life Linda Reiff. While in college, Roger was drafted and joined the United States Army, serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War. When Roger was on leave, he and Linda were married on July 22, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois. Linda survives in Marion.
Roger along with his wife Linda owned and operated Marion Pastry Shop for 10 years making delicious treats for the community of Marion and the surrounding area to enjoy. Roger later went to work at Matthews Honda until his retirement in 2014. Roger was a member of the Dayspring Wesleyan Church in Marion. Roger enjoyed playing a good round of golf, watching baseball and basketball. Roger enjoyed being outdoors and traveling with Linda, especially to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Roger was passionate about sports and had a soft spot for animals, bringing strays into his home and taking care of them. Roger had a dry sense of humor and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Visitation for Roger will be on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 1:00 until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM in the Dayspring Wesleyan Church, 2431 Marion-Mt. Gilead Rd., Marion, Ohio 43302.
Memorial contributions may be made in Roger's honor to Honor Flight, 2233 N. Bank Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43220.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Snyder Funeral Home, Denzer Chapel.
