Roger Larry Garrett, 58, of Navarre, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Saturday Nov. 5, 2022.
Larry was born in Livingston, Tennessee to the late Benny Larry and Patricia Elkins Garrett. He graduated from McMinnville High School, attended Middle Tennessee State University, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked for over 30 years in the construction industry in many roles. He was of the Baptist faith.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sylvia Garrett, of Navarre, Florida; sons, Tyler, Nathan, Roger, Sam and Jackson; one daughter, Christine; grandchildren, Rachel, Jamarius, Laurel, Keilani, Theodore and anxiously awaiting baby Penelope; siblings, Ken and Andrea; special Aunts, Faye and Shirley; Uncles, Bill and Ray; many cousins, nieces, nephews; extended family; best friend, Jim and family; mother of 4 of his children, Jana and family; special family member, Joan; fur babies, Gato and Sassyfrass.
Larry was a kind and loving soul, husband, dad, grandpa, and friend to all. Larry took pride in his family, his military service, his faith, and helping others.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday November 26, 2022 from 9:00-11:00am at Patterson Park Community Center, 521 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130
Larry valiantly fought metastatic colon cancer for over 5 years with a remarkable positive attitude. To honor Larry, early detection is key, he would encourage you to be screened. He received world class healthcare from Tennessee Valley Healthcare Systems, the Veteran's Administration, in collaboration with Vanderbilt University health system.
