Roger Neil Giddings

Roger Neil Giddings, 82, of Freehold, passed away on March 31, 2022.
Roger was born on October 7, 1939 in Neptune to Malvin and Anna Giddings. He graduated from Neptune High School in 1954. Upon his graduation, Roger entered the United States Marines Corp where he served for four years. During his time in service, he served as a military policeman.
After his discharge from the Marines he worked several jobs. For many years he worked at Freeway Warehouse and Ciba-Geigy in Farmingdale until the plant closed. He then went on to work at Ocean County Superior Court in the Law Library as a librarian. Roger retired in 2007.
In 1981 Roger met and married Alma Giddings in Ocean Township. Roger and Alma went on to have two sons. Roger also had a son and a daughter from a previous marriage.
Roger loved watching his children play sports. He enjoyed traveling wherever they were competing. His children were very important to him and filled much of his leisure time after retirement. Roger was an avid sports fan and was most content during the football season. Clothes and his appearance were very important to Roger. He took great pride in his outfits and was never fully dressed without a hat.
Roger was predeceased by his mother Anna Giddings, his father Malvin Giddings, and his brother Lawrence Giddings.
He is survived by his loving wife Alma Giddings, sons Cory Giddings (Boone, North Carolina), Kyle Giddings (Freehold, NJ), Garner Giddings (Indiana) and a daughter Deanna Giddings (Belleville, Illinois). Also surviving are his brothers Malvin (Maria) Giddings II (Santa Maria, California), and Robert (Geneva) Giddings (Bloomfield, Connecticut), also a sister Betsy Harris (Atlanta, Georgia) and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
