Roger Herrick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Plainville Funeral Home - Plainville on Jul. 19, 2021.
Obituary
Roger Herrick, beloved brother, uncle and friend, beat all odds against him and passed away after 62 joyful years on Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Born in Maine on December 18, 1958, he was one of five children to the late Thomas and Maggie Rose (Kafkas) Herrick.  He was a lifelong member of CCARC where he leaves many dear friends and former co-workers.  He enjoyed many years of participating in the Special Olympics, and was known for his love for music and epic dance moves.  Roger had a fondness for Christmas and looked forward to being surrounded by his family and friends, especially around the holidays so he could get sharply dressed in his suit jacket and tie.  Remembered for his legendary smile, bright spirit, and flirtatious personality, Roger touched the lives of everyone he met and will be missed beyond words, leaving many cherished memories.

He leaves his siblings, Christopher Herrick (Helen), Tommy Herrick (Juanita), Roseanne Shepherd (Robert), Elaine Churchill (Bill) and Marguerite Harris; and many adored nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, including his niece Kim Herrick Stavola and her husband Nick who lovingly cared for Roger in his final years; along with many cousins, friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, Roger may be remembered with contributions to CCARC, 950 Slater Rd, New Britain, CT 06053 or at www.CCARC.com or to the Special Olympics at www.support.specialolympics.org

Family and friends may gather in celebration of Roger's life on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville.  Words of remembrance will be shared at 7:00 p.m.  For online expressions of sympathy please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
