Roger Kicker Obituary
He was born on November 7, 1953 to Allen and Opal Kicker on Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE. Roger moved to Beloit, WI, where he met his wife, Lisa Wright. They married on May 28, 1977 and went on to have two children. Roger was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp where he served as a M.P.
Roger then went on to further his education in Law Enforcement at Blackhawk Technical College where he received his Associates Degree in Police Science. He was hired at the South Beloit Police Department in 1978, where he worked until his retirement in the early 2000's.
Roger was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the Marine Corp League. His hobbies included scuba diving every chance he got, taking trips to Hawaii, Florida, Honduras, and the Bahamas. Roger was an avid Viking fan, win or lose. Roger loved spending time with his family and friends. He would often go to his favorite diner and have coffee with his good friend, Boyd Meyers and his fellow retired officers.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Kicker; children, Jason (Tracey) Kicker and Jessica (Jeff) Hester; grandchildren, Sarah (Dylan) Eberhardt-Walls, Tarah (Matt Lee) Baldwin, Tyler Kicker, Alese Holloway, Makenna (Daniel Hollowell) Kicker, Paige (Josh Miller) Holloway, Nolan Eberhardt, Keyvon Holloway and Nathan Hester; great-grandchildren, Ashton Baldwin, Ryker Baldwin, and Catherine Louise Walls; brother, Ron Kicker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Allen and Opal Kicker.
A Memorial Service for Roger will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in the funeral home.
Memorials in his name may be made to the VFW Post #11019.
