Sandra Kay Kicker passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2025 after battling various health issues. She was born July 15,1945 in Minneapolis, MN to Juergen and Elva (Burgess) Bohlen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Jay Bohlen; daughter-in-law Angela (Hanson) Kicker; In-laws Anna and William Kicker.
Sandy's early life was spent in the heart of Minneapolis exploring and getting to know the people in the apartment building her grandparents managed and people and places in the community, with her cousin Gary. Her family moved out to Circle Pines where she graduated from high school.
Sandy's first real job was switchboard operator for HA Holden where she met her husband Mike. They married on May 18,1968 and raised their two children, Leslie (Paul) Becker and Michael Kicker, in Robbinsdale, a neighborhood filled with dear friends, where they have resided for 55 years. After spending some time at home, Sandy went to work at Bob Inc., where she led the office and kept things running like a well oiled machine, for 28 years.
Sandy treasured time at the cabin in Ottertail, MN. She loved the little white shack and later continued to find joy spending time with family and friends in the new cabin. Spending Christmas there was a dream come true.
There were adventures along the way. A cruise across the Atlantic for a summer spent with family in Germany, salmon fishing trips on Lake Michigan and in Alaska, snowmobiling and ice fishing with long time friends, trips to Hawaii and Thailand with family, and most recently snow birding in Port Aransas, TX where she met many new friends.
Sandy was both a talker and a listener and spent hours on the phone with family and friends. She cherished deep relationships and was there to cheer on successes, offer advice and support in troubled times, and walk through the daily ups and downs of life.
Sandy adored her grandchildren and lit up in their presence. She thoroughly enjoyed listening to anything and everything going on in their lives. She felt privileged to play an especially important role in nurturing her grandson, Liam.
Sandy is survived by her husband Mike Kicker; children Leslie (Paul) Becker and Michael Kicker; grandchildren Alexa Becker, Alyssa (Luke) Becker-Anderson, Nicholas Becker, and Liam Kicker; sisters Bonnie (Mark) Folsom and Monica (Rick) Kaczynski.
