Roger Eugene Kidd

Roger Eugene Kidd, 84, of Millfield, went to heaven to see Jesus on February 13, 2024 at home with family by his side.

Born October 7, 1939 in Millfield, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Franklin and Crystal Morgan Kidd.  Roger graduated from Chauncey-Dover High School in 1957 and joined the United States Army.  He retired after 30 years as a Boilermaker and was a member of the Poston United Methodist Church.

Roger is survived by his wife, Joanne Augustine Stotts Kidd; children, Sherri (Ken) Gilbraith of The Plains, Ohio, Joe (Nancy)Stotts of Racine, Ohio, Karen (Steve) Creek of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, and Barbie (Lee) Hughes of Greenfield, Indiana; grandchildren, Jake Hart ,Aaron, Abby and Dawson Creek, Kenny and Kyle Gilbraith (Britney Bodie), Joey (Emily) Stotts, Racheal (Matt) Bailey, Emma, Lucas, Nicholas, Anna, Kiera and Sofia Hughes; great grandchildren, Mason, Aiden and Zoe Ann Stotts, Marcella Bailey, Owen Hart, Violet and Logan Creek; brothers, Jim and Tom; sister, Candy Kidd;  special nieces and nephews, Barb Heightland, Jan Dicken, Jonny Ray Stotts, Kay Eggleston; his church family at Poston United Methodist church where he spent countless hours with his best friend John Balch; special friends, Rich and Dianna Bainey.  He was very excited to be having another great grandson in May.  He loved his family dearly, especially when they were all here together having lots of fun.  He was very proud to be their dad and grandfather.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Bobbi Jo Ziekle and niece Nancy Ruscoe.

A sincere thank you to Ohio Health Hospice, VA Administration, his church family, all the fantastic caregivers, Morgan, Barb, Sandy and Ashley.  A heartfelt and sincere thanks to our children and grandchildren for all the love, support, and help.

Family and friends can call on Saturday, February 17, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral service will be immediately following at 1:00pm with Christofer Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens where military services will be conducted by the Albany VFW and Athens American Legion.  A meal will follow the services at the Poston United Methodist Church where all are welcome to share food and fellowship.
