Roger Allen Kruger, age 87, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 6, 2025. Roger was born on July 4, 1938, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota to Clayton and Clara (Nelson) Kruger. On October 20, 1962, Roger was united in marriage to Karen Kay Lightley in Blooming Prairie. He worked for many years at Hormel Foods in Austin. Roger loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching football. Roger also had a great passion for Ford Motor Company and Ski-Doo snowmobiles, sharing many joyful moments snowmobiling with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Peter (Lynn) Kruger, Jon (Sara) Kruger, and Tresa (Don) Meyer; seven grandchildren, Steven (Brenna) Kruger, Alexander (Jillian Marchetti) Kruger, Alyssa (Max DeNies) Kruger, Riley (Montanna) Meyer, Lane (Margaret Trombley) Meyer, Brandon Kruger, and Ryan Kruger; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Born; brother-in-law, Dean Lightley; and nieces and nephews, Lisa (Brad) Stout, Ross (Mary) Johnson, Wade (Grace) Johnson, Tricia Brazell, and Jesse (Lisa) Ohl. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Clara Kruger; two sisters, Marilyn Brazell and Sharon Kruger; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Clarice Lightley; sister-in-law, Pat (David) Johnson; and nephew, David Brazell.

The family would like to thank the first responders, police department, and coroner, McKenzie, Adam and all the staff of Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home, and everyone who provided kindness during this difficult time.

A private family service will be held. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, rural Blooming Prairie. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
