Roger E. Lehti

Roger Ervin Lehti, age 83 and a lifelong resident of Cromwell, Minnesota, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Aspirus/St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. He was born on June 13, 1942, the son of Ervin and Edna (Lundin) Lehti. Roger attended school in Cromwell and graduated in 1960. He was employed at the Grain Elevator in Duluth for more than 40 years.

Roger was united in marriage to Barbara Johnson on July 10, 1993. He was a long time member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell and volunteered within the community and especially made it a point to visit the residents at the Cardinal Court. He never met a stranger and became a friend to all. His passion was photography, with beautiful nature shots of birds, animals, and hunting adventures. He enjoyed family outings, spending time with his grandkids, great grandkids, and attending sporting events, where he photographed the students participating in those events.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Shayla Johnson; grandson, Ronald Lehti, Jr.; and son-in-law, Lynwood Silar. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 32 years, Barbara; children, Julie (Howard) Granholm, Ron (Tami Felling) Lehti, Tammy Lehti Silar, Todd (Jen) Johnson , and Chad (Kelly) Johnson; grandchildren, Misty (Brent) Dusek, Chaz Granholm, Taylor (Noah) Erickson, Talon Johnson, Jordan (Jenny) Johnson, Tristan Johnson, Lucas (Megan) Johnson, Mikal (Jayna) Johnson, and Kayle (Josh) Oliver; great-grandchildren, Brooks, Violet Marie, Berkley, Elsie, Layken, Grayson, Fielder, Sage, Landon, Presley, Jayce, and Kya; sisters, Nancy (Robert) Clark, Maryann Lehti, Phyllis (Jim Casperson) Lehti; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Family was very important to Roger, and he loved them all dearly!

Service for Roger will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. and continue until the 11:30 a.m. memorial service.
