NORTH SMITHFIELD

Roger M. McNeil, 75, of North Smithfield passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Hope Health in Providence, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Harris McNeil and the late Bella (Maurice) McNeil.

Roger devoted 35 years of his career to Kmart, where he remained a loyal and dedicated employee from the time of his graduation until his retirement.

Roger was an avid vegetable gardener, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Roger leaves his daughter, Emily McNeil of Cumberland; his son, Matthew McNeil and his wife, Elizabeth of Norfolk, MA; his brother, Robert McNeil and his wife Lillian of North Smithfield; his sisters, Doris Ceprano of Cranston, Estelle Heroux of Woonsocket and Jeanne Carbone and her husband Thomas of North Kingstown; his two grandchildren, Lily Ann McNeil, Mia McNeil, and a grandson expected to born in June.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Roger's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 NOON in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Rhode Island Food Pantry, 1 Angell Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864.

A very fond farewell to Roger, friend and brother-in-law for many years. He will be missed and remembered aways as a great gardener and tomato aficionado. So many memories of talking about plants in his yard.
